Campaign Financing

Judges standing for retention whose candidacy has drawn active opposition may campaign in response and may establish committees to obtain publicly stated support and campaign funds. Thus, Iowa's campaign finance laws apply. There are no limits on contributions from individuals or PACs. Labor unions may contribute up to $500 per year if there is no union PAC. Contributions from corporations, anonymous contributions, and contributions in another's name are prohibited.
